Tessa Stein and Bob Simon and their son, Gabriel, traveled to Paraguay
in August. They sponsor Pablo Enrique Vazquez. Here is what they have to say
about their experience:
“Our son, Gabriel, who is 12, expressed interest in going back to his birth
country, Paraguay. We also have sponsored a chi ld, Pablo Enrique Vazquez through
the PPP organization for the past six years and this trip would give us an
opportunity to finally meet him and his family. After arriving, we eagerly
awaited our meeting at the PPP office. Pablo greeted us with hugs so tight that
he didn’t want to let go. Tears came to my eyes seeing this expression of love
from Pablo.”
“Pablo’s family live in an extremely dangerous part of the Chacarita so visiting
his home was impossible. However, we did go to another section of the Charcarita
with another PPP sponsor family and witnessed the seriousness of the poverty ikn
that neighborhood. On another day, the PPP staff drove us around to the many
projects that PPP has developed. We had no idea that so much was going on with
PPP. We saw how much has been one with our donations and how far our dollars can
be stretched in Paraguay. PPP is doing amazing work! Because of this trip, we
decided to sponsor Pablo’s brother Jan, Too.”
“The PPP staff are incredible. They invited us into their hearts and their
homes. I would like to thank the PPP staff for everything that they did for us.
They are dedicated, wonderful human beings and the work that they are doing is
truly inspiring.”
