Dignity Village
Dignity Village, a 30-acre ranch near the rural town
of Itauga. is a community project offering job opportunities
for women and their families who are registered with the Project for the People
of Paraguay. The objective of this project is to develop micro
buisinesses that provide permanent and secure
employment for responsible candidates. Some
possible businesses that will be
open to selected candidates are: vegetable farming, beekeeping,
chicken and egg production,
fruit crops, and meat production (pigs and cattle).
Recently purchased and managed by PPP,
the ranch has a three-bed room, three-bath ranch house
with a large veranda, a large summer kitchen, another
four-room house with patio/veranda, and several outbuildings
for animals. An expansive fruit orchard surrounds the ranch house with
approximately 12 assorted mature fruit trees. A
small pond is at the entrance to the ranch with a
beautiful freshwater stream bordering the back property line.
